WELCOME TO THE LONGSHED “OPEN DOOR”

SATURDAY APRIL 21st   11:00 – 15:00

Wander and Wonder

Come and look in The Longshed on the Woodbridge Waterfront from

11.00 – 15.00 on Saturday, April 21.

If you have ever wondered what’s going on in there you are welcome to wander and wonder, at the size of this breath-taking community space that amazingly, belongs to you.

Come and talk to some of the townsfolk of the Woodbridge Riverside Trust who have actually made this happen.

You can join them and listen to explanations about Skiff building and the Coastal Rowing Club.

You can see the splendid size of the Saxon ship that has been responsible for the awesome dimensions of this covered space.

You can hear about plans for Art, Music, Education and Exhibitions in the forthcoming Heritage Centre on the mezzanine and meet some of the people who have already brought you the film, Life on the Deben or the musical production of The King’s River.

Autumn talk on saltmarshes

The RDA opened its Autumn 2017 meeting to non-members, as well as members, to hear Karen Thomas from the Water Management Alliance talk about Saltmarshes.   The committee felt strongly that the wonders of the Deben’s saltmarshes (which account for 40% of all of Suffolk saltmarshes) should be more widely known and appreciated and so invited members of the local community to attend. The talk attracted at least 120 people, with more than half being non-members.

Attendees were invited to fill in the questionnaire below, and if you missed your chance to do so, it’s not too late. Please complete the form and either e-mail it to: peter.cosgrove@suffolk.gov.uk or send it to:
