News from the Whisstocks Project

The Whisstocks Project has issued an update on discussions with the developer for the Whisstocks boatyard about potential for a partnership scheme on the site rather than pursuing outright community purchase.  The developers are proposing to include a “Community boat shed” which could be used for building a full size working replica of the Sutton Hoo Anglo-Saxon ship and other heritage projects; community access to open space on the site; alongside a commercial development.

The Whisstocks Project is now seeking views on whether to continue working towards a compromise solution on these lines.
