A talk about Climate Change by Lord Deben

Thursday December 8th 7pm, Seckford Theatre, Woodbridge

(doors open 6 pm)

Change of speaker – Councillor Richard Rout has kindly stepped in at the last moment to give a talk instead of Lord Deben.

STOP PRESS: River Deben Association Autumn Talk

We regret to inform you that following a call to Jane at lunchtime today, the Rt. Hon. Lord Deben will not be able to attend the RDA talk this evening.

Lord Deben requires to attend the House of Lords this afternoon, to respond to a government decision on the Cumbrian Coal Mine that was announcement yesterday. This decision was made contrary to the advice given to the government by the Independent Committee for Climate Change, which he chairs and on whose behalf he needs to respond.

The statement is being presented in the House of Commons this afternoon and repeated in the House of Lords at 6pm which unfortunately means he will not able to be in Woodbridge.

Lord Deben sends his sincere apologies to the RDA members and all who were hoping to attend this evening and looks forward to rescheduling his talk.

However, the RDA is pleased to announce that Councillor Richard Rout has extremely kindly stepped in to give a talk as invited by Lord Deben. Councillor Rout is Deputy Leader of the Suffolk County Council and Cabinet Member for Economy and Environment and will give a Suffolk perspective on the pathway to net zero.

The RDA hopes that you are able to attend what should be a very stimulating talk by Councillor Rout.

Jane Haviland / Colin Nicholson – RDA Co-Chairs
